William Blake

William Blake

William Blake was an English poet and painter of the 18th century. Most remarkably he wrote poems and illustrated, engraved and printed them himself. Although he saw himself as a christian in a very christian world his ideas about this were radically different from the norm. Dying in poverty he is now much respected and valued and the film gives examples of his work and explores his life and ideas. It is followed by a brief summary of his work.
